Hwy 17 - Monday, May 13th through Friday, May 17th
Caltrans has scheduled a lane reduction on southbound State Route 17 between Idylwild Rd. to Summit Rd just south of Los Gatos starting on Monday, May 13th through Friday, May 17th from 9 AM- 2:30 PM.
Caltrans maintenance will be creating a fire break by removing vegetation such as removing overgrown weeds, tree trimming, and clearing shrubs that are blocking highway signage.
To ensure the safety of the crew and motorists, a lane reduction is planned to take place on the far-right lane on SB State Route 17 between Idywild Rd. to Summit Rd.
Highway 1 Near Soquel Drive - Tuesday, May 13th - Friday, May 17th Full Overnight Closures
Southbound Hwy. 1 between Soquel Dr. and 41st Ave.
Alternating full highway closure with closure of the #1 (left) lane between Soquel Dr. and 41st Ave. from 9 pm to 2 am. During full closures of southbound Hwy. 1, travelers will be directed off at Soquel Dr. and continue south on Soquel Ave. before rejoining Hwy. 1 at the southbound 41st Ave. onramp.
Northbound Hwy. 1 between Soquel Dr. and 41st Ave.
Alternating full highway closure with closure of the #1 (left) lane between Soquel Dr. and 41st Ave. from 9 pm to 5 am.
During full closures of northbound Hwy. 1, travelers will be directed off at 41st Ave. and head east to Soquel Dr. Travelers will continue north on Soquel Dr. before rejoining Hwy. 1 at the northbound Soquel Dr. onramp.
Message and directional signs will be in place to direct travelers who can expect delays of up to 10 minutes.
Soquel Ave. Full Overnight Closure Tuesday May 14
Travelers will encounter a full closure of Soquel Ave. between Chanticleer Ave. and 17th Ave. from 8:30 pm to 1:00 am. Travelers on Soquel Ave. will be directed to 17th Ave., Rodriguez St., and Chanticleer Ave, before returning to Soquel Ave. Message and directional signs will be in place to direct travelers.
Hwy. 1 Overnight Ramp and Lane Closures Sunday May 12 and Monday May 13
Travelers will encounter the intermittent closure of the #2 (right) lane of Hwy. 1 near Soquel Dr. Travelers may also encounter various ramp closures at the Soquel Dr. and 41st Ave. interchanges. At no time will two consecutive onramps or offramps be closed at the same time. During overnight hours crews will be performing excavation work.
Hwy. 1 Daytime Ramp Closures Monday May 13 thru Friday May 17
Travelers will continue to encounter a closure of the northbound 41st Ave. onramp to Highway 1 (the onramp from westbound 41st Ave.) Message and directional signs will direct travelers to detour to the northbound onramp for Hwy. 1 Soquel Dr. From Wednesday through Friday, travelers will encounter a closure of the southbound Soquel onramp to Highway 1. Message and directional signs will direct travelers to the southbound onramp for Highway 1 at 41st Ave. Travelers can expect delays of up to 10 minutes. These closures will permit crews to perform work on drainage infrastructure.
Highway 9 - Tuesday, May 14th - Thursday, May 16th
A section pf Hwy 9 will be closed from Lower Glen Arbor Road to Upper Glen Arbor on Tuesday, May 14 through Thursday, May 16 from 9 am to 3 pm. This closure is necessary so that Caltrans can perform work on various trees between Scenic Way and Woodland Drive to ensure the safety of all travelers. A crane will be placed on the highway to facilitate this work.
Local residents will be allowed through the closure area.
The California Highway Patrol will be present to ensure a safe environment for everyone.

Soquel San Jose Road Monday, May 20th - Mid October
Stormwater Damage Repairs will commence on Soquel San Jose (between Rancho Soquel Road and Conference Ground Road) from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Lane closure, traffic delays, and temporary road closures will be necessary to complete the work. The temporary road closures (for tree removal, drilling holes and placing piles, and paving) are expected to last up to 30 minutes. One lane will be closed, and a temporary traffic signal will be used to direct traffic through the open lane.
These lane closures and delays are necessary for the construction of a soldier pile retaining wall and roadway improvements. Commuters traveling through the area should seek alternate routes or plan for delays.
